I just got an 8BitDo M30, which is a 6-face button controller in the style of the Genesis/Mega Drive or Saturn gamepads. It's like RetroArch's Platonic ideal of a controller. As most of you know, this is sort of a hybrid between the SNES and PlayStation controllers, which is basically perfect for what RetroArch expects all controllers to be. I use an 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ for most games in Retroarch.
